Zac Efron Gets Schooled in DJing by Alesso

Imagine if you had the chance to play an aspiring DJ, and your teacher for the role was one of the most successful DJ’s to come out of Sweden. Class is in session for the young and talented Zac Efron, who will be playing an aspiring DJ in his new film We Are Your Friends. His lessons for the role are coming from none other than ‘Pressure’ star Alesso.

In Zac Efron’s newest role, he’ll be playing Cole, a 23-year-old aspiring DJ in a coming-of-age film that is set in Hollywood. During the day, Cole is experiencing the struggles of any regular young artist in Hollywood, but at night he is working on tracks and building a name for himself.

Like every role, an actor or actress must practice and find people who are experienced in their real-life role so that they can get training. Max Joseph, co-host of Catfish and director of the film, decided to get Alesso on board to give Zac Efron proper DJ tips and lessons.

It’s awesome that Max Joseph, who co-wrote the film, is taking the role of the DJ seriously. Despite the fact that the film might face scrutiny for portraying this specific profession, hopefully Alesso’s DJ lessons will give the film authenticity in depicting the life of a DJ.

Max Joseph is a solid writer, and co-stars Zac Efron and Emily Ratajkowsk, playing Efron’s love interest, are some of the best young talents in the business. Plus, there’s no better representation of an aspiring DJ who made it than Alesso. Here’s to hoping that Efron’s DJing by Alesso works out for the film!

The picture below shows Alesso on set with Efron, who captions, ‘It was a pleasure to have you as my first dj student!”.

While no date has been set yet for a release, be sure to check out We Are Your Friends!
